Grateful to have been a part of Melena's baptism

This week has been so exhausting! I am so tired all the time! It is nice to finally have a break.

Melena's baptism was this week. It was so cool! There were so many people there and the spirit was so strong! I am so grateful to have been a part of that!

We are changing tactics teaching the people we already know, finding new investigators, and focusing on part member families and less actives. I am pumped to start but it is gonna be another killer week.

Got home from church this Sunday to find a broken window. I think someone may have thrown a rock at it because there is a fist sized rock all by itself by the window... now we have to get both the wall and the window fixed... grrr. It's all goods though, this week has been too good to complain.

I found a scripture in studies the other day - 1 Thessalonians 1:5-6. It was cool because the gospel isn't all about contending about the bible, but we can know by the power of the Holy Ghost what is true and what is of Christ.

I am so happy to be here in Albany. I think it may be my new favorite area. Oxnard was until now. If anything, it is a close tie. The mission is the best and I can't wait to show you how much it has done for me!

I love you all!

Dear President Lindsay, I am so glad you have decided to keep me in Albany for the next 15 months

I am a bit tired today and am having a hard time thinking straight, so bear with me and excuse the shortness. The Zone Leaders are here today and they wanted to drive all over the place to see stuff, so I have been really pooped today since we left at 6:00.

Melenna is in her interview right now and should be out in a minute or two... oh actually right now. Anyways, this week has been hectic and great. Lots of missionary work going on. Another lady we have been teaching came to church! If she comes next week she is on track to be baptized! She is coming to the baptism this Saturday too! I can not wait for that! It is going to be so great!

It is awesome to hear about Colton! He is gonna love his mission! I love mine so much!

So, in my letter to the Mission President last week I was all, "Dear President Lindsay, I am so glad you have decided to keep me in Albany for the next 15 months! I love it here and am happy to end my mission here." Ha ha ha, I hope it works ;) Anyways, life is the best and I love hearing from you all so much!

I got another letter from Guadalupe this week! She is doing awesome and I can't wait to see her and Jesus again! Remember the skateboard Jesus gave me? Well, I got some trucks and wheels from a member and now I have a full board!

A few weeks ago a spider scared me and I threw some Blu Tack at it, but it went through the wall... so I have to pay for that now. Ouch. It's all good though. The spider got what was his. He he he, the bugs here are too gnarly to live.

I lost my camera cord, but will find it by next week for pictures!

I love you all!

Improving our rep and an upcoming baptism

I am losing my mind! I have never been so stressed in my life! There seems like so much work to do and no time to do it! I think I am starting to get it now though. There are just lots of things to plan.

On Tuesday we went to Grace Renfrey's swim meet. It was pretty cool she came in 2nd overall. It was a little sketchy being at a pool, but not really. We are solid. I smacked 9 months this week. I have been out long enough to have a baby. I might have said that last week but I am saying it again...

We went up to Perth on Thursday and left on Saturday. Elder James J. Hamula of the Seventy talked to all the missionaries. It was pretty cool. In New Zealand and Australia, our mission has gained a bad reputation. APM stands for Australia Perth Mission... and some people see it as Australia Party Mission. The mission had a bit of a reputation a few years ago, but Elder Hamula said he was pleased to see that we were different and that we should work hard to remove the reputation we have in NZ and AUS.

On the bus up to Perth they played Super Buddies, that is probably the worst movie I have ever seen. The bus really sucks at picking movies to play. Its all good though, I think it would have been more distracting if I enjoyed it.

One of the ladies we have been teaching is so solid. We scheduled all the stuff about her baptism yesterday and she has her interview next week. We are seeing her later today too. She has been reading my blog too! Ha ha, she is reading about her own story on the blog. It is kinda funny to see her do it. Anyway, she is getting baptized and has asked me to do it. I am so excited!

This week was crazy, next week will be crazier. The miracles will blow your mind I am so sure! We are teaching a girl from Taiwan. She speaks almost no English and uses a translator for a lot of the words we say. She is super cool though and seems solid. We are kinda teaching her English by reading the pamphlets. We are getting ones in Chinese next week so she can understand what she is reading better.

I think I am finally getting used to missionary life. It is to the point where I am bored when I'm not doing missionary work - not today though! P day is my day.

I love you all so much!

Week 40

Wow - week 40. I feel so old.
I hit nine months this week. I could have had a baby by now... weird, huh?

Anyway... this week has been so cool! I got my new companion on Tuesday. His name is Elder Ropiha. He is from Sydney and is a STUD! We are gonna get along real good.

We have already had miracles together too! So, on Wednesday, we called our Ward Mission Leader, Brother Enthistle, to see if he could come to a lesson with us. He could, but then he told us some news. He was working with another investigator and she was asking questions. He told her about the word of wisdom and some of the other commandments. Then, she told him she wanted to be baptized. WOW WOW!! We had asked her a few days earlier is she wanted to be and she said that she had to think about it. We told her to pray about it and we would figure it out the next time we would meet. So she is going to be baptized on March 22nd now and she is so solid on that.

Then, later in the week we met with another investigator and she accepted the invitation to be baptized too! Her date is on March 29th. I hope she can make it because she has some trouble coming to church sometimes, she lives a ways away. There are so many good things going on in the mission and I can't wait to see them all come.

Elder Cram and I saw a stingray! I don't know if I told you that yet but it was SO SICK!! We were fishing and it just came gliding past. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. It was around three or four feet long and was so cool.

We are covering the Sisters' area now as well as ours, so we have been worked like dogs covering their appointments and ours. I am so pooped. While tracting this week, we saw the Mystery Machine. So pumped for this week.

I love you all,
Elder Jamison
